This course aims to provide training in Radiological Protection and Safety to professionals from different sectors of activity that lead to obtaining qualification Level II – “Qualified Technician”, as provided for in paragraph b) of article 3 of Decree-Law no. 227/2008, of November 25th. Goals: The intern will be able to carry out the duties of the qualified technician provided for in article 9 of Decree-Law No. 227/2008: a) Implement the actions determined by the qualified expert; b) Ensure compliance with the requirements regarding safety and radiological protection established for monitored and controlled areas; c) Ensure the correct use of individual dosimeters for all exposed workers; d) Collaborate in supervising the activity of external workers in radiological facilities, especially ensuring compliance with radiological protection measures in controlled areas, if applicable; e) Check that the ionizing radiation monitoring equipment is operational and used correctly; f) Carry out area and individual operational monitoring records; g) Carry out periodic tests of control, safety and signaling systems; h) Ensure that the storage of radioactive waste and sources is carried out under appropriate safety conditions; i) Report to the qualified expert any incident or accident occurring on the premises; j) Train emergency plans Duration: 100 hours Target Audience: Professionals who work with ionizing radiation from different sectors of industrial activity (non-medical), leading to obtaining qualification Level II – “Qualified Technician”, as provided for in article 3 of Decree-Law no. 227/2008, of November 25th. Certification: Successful completion grants the trainee a Professional Training Certificate issued on the SIGO platform. The issuance of the certificate on the aforementioned platform allows the automatic crediting of skills in the trainee's Qualifica Passport A certificate of attendance and completion of the course in Radiological Protection and Safety will be issued in accordance with Decree-Law No. 227/2008 of November 25th. Training team: To be announced Additional information: Requirements: Professionals who intend to take the Level II qualification course must have: a bachelor's degree awarded by a higher education institution in the areas of Physics, Physical Engineering, Technological Physics or Biomedical Engineering; Qualified candidates with a bachelor's degree in other areas, awarded by a higher education institution, subject to curricular analysis; — In addition to the candidates previously foreseen, qualified candidates with a bachelor's degree awarded by a higher education institution in the areas of Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine or other health sciences may be admitted. In accordance with items 1 and 2 of Annex I of Federal Decree no. 227/2008, of November 25th.
